Why not landscape using plants that use 50-75% less water than standard ornamental plants?
The Woodland Garden showcased in Jordan Valley averages 7.96" of irrigation water per season, compared to the typical landscape use of 50 inches
--The Conservation Garden Park found in Jordan Valley, Utah showcases beautiful sample landscapes which conserve water.  Their website is gorgeous, features a plant database and resource library, and includes a pamphlet in spanish about water efficient landscaping.  Visit them!!!  :)
